History
Piney Flats United Methodist Church dates back to 1873 when Andrew Shell donated land for a union church. This first church, Shell’s Chapel, was comprised of members of the Methodist Episcopal; Methodist Episcopal, South; Presbyterian; and Baptist Churches.
